Overview
The imposing 1896 industrial shell has been developed into a loft-style modern hotel. Gastwerk is built in a former municipal gasworks building and its name alludes to both the previous and present function of the property. Situated in the west of Hamburg, the hotel is a 15 minute drive to the city centre by car - public transportation is available in front of the hotel.

Description & Location
North German cool is embodied within the design with an open fireplace and quiet places to read, write and relax in. Oversized chairs, light natural colors and soothing textures soften the rough industrial structure, giving its once purely functional form new life. An uncommon mix of industrial architecture and an 8000 m² urban interior makes the Gastwerk truely unique. Gastwerk has transformed an industrial monument into a new creative center - a source of renewable energy for years to come.
